artemas quibble

-jewelry and accessories from antique materials and the creatures of mme. du barry I proudly present Artemas Quibble and the Creatures of Mme. du Barry, all of the pieces are made, cast, or inspired by antique materials, from steamer trunks to furniture and scientific instruments.  The bracelets are made with antique book covers both cloth and leather, some more than 350 years old.

Every bracelet comes in an leather case stamped with a serial number matching the number on the item, and provenance papers typed on antique end-papers or engravings. “If one were to try and find the heart of these pieces, where the greatest beauty resides, I would say it is from the original hands that made the books, it is from the original hands that carved the brass and gilt bronze pieces.  It is celebrating the craft of those forgotten artists, that is the absolute essence of the work.  The reverence lies in the history, not in my mixing of the leather and metal metaphors.
